What Kingdom Come is Missing..

Jay-Z's latest release "Kingdom Come" was disappointing to say the least. It just isn't on par with what we've become accustomed to from Jay. I would put Black Album and Reasonable Doubt as his two best, neck and neck. Here's what I think might have made "Kingdom Come" a better album for us:

1- Some tracks by Primo
- No reason Jay can't get DJ Premier on this. Jay's got the pull and Primo needs the money. Some of Jay's hottest tracks were on this level. A track with 9th Wonder couldn't hurt either. Some of the newer producers Jay must be trying to showcase on this cd just aren't hitting. The intro track is definitely the worst Jay-Z album intro ever.

2-A collab with Nas - Why limit the collab track to just Nas' album? There's no reason not to cross promote each other, they both work for Def Jam. Is Jay worried Nas would outshine him? If you've heard the radio rip floating around of "Black Republican" you know just what I'm talking about. The track's hot, and giving us 2 collabs (1 on each album) wouldn't hurt either.

3-Less R&B hooks - I love the John Legend track, his chorus and vocal style are definitely nice, but it might have been better on his album. Also having Ne-Yo on the album, Usher,Beyonce etc etc..makes it look like Jay is just helping promote these singers vs using sampled hooks.

4-Street material - Yeah Jay has left behind all that thuggish, hustler life that made his earlier albums pulsate with emotion, but that doesn't mean he needs to forget them on this album. Give us some of that street mixed in here, not just an album of bragging and discussing technology or his transition to CEO.

The album isn't terrible, but there are ways it could be improved. Hopefully this isn't Jay's last, because we don't want him going out like Jordan, playin the "45"
..
