Jay-Z's Return

Entertainment Weekly broke the story that everyone was waiting to hear; Jay-Z is coming out of retirement with a new album, entitled "Kingdom Come". The album concept is based on a series of the Superman Comic with the same title, where Superman returns from retirement to save the world again. Kind of a metaphoric return for Jay-Z to return to save hip hop?

Since the story broke, a number of sites have been posting what they claim are tracklists. Its hard to believe any to be accurate yet, because they seem to show a very heavy guestlist, including everyone from Nas to Kanye West to Beyonce to Eminem. This would not be unusual in rap these days for a cd, but for a Jay-Z cd you wouldnt expect that, unless it was a double album. It is pretty much confirmed that Kanye West, Timbaland, Neptunes and Dr. Dre will produce beats on this album. It is also speculated that Rick Rubin of Beastie Boys fame will produce another track, as he did with "99 Problems" on Jay's last cd. Chris Martin of Coldplay has also signed on to help Jigga.

All that said, Jay-Z continues his cause to bring the world's attention to the water shortage crisis, as he is on a global concert tour. He has began filming or by now already filmed the video for the first song from this new album, showing up on set with 2 ultra expensive cars. The first single will be "Show U What I Got".
