Kanye West = MTV's Hottest MC

Right now Kanye is hosting the impressive "Glow in the Dark" concert tour at a city near you. The tour includes a spectacular set and tracklist, plus the other great acts sharing the stage: N.E.R.D., Lupe Fiasco and Rihanna. Kanye also continues to amaze with album after album of brilliance each year. His lyrical game improves as his production only gets hotter. Recently, Kanye's "Graduation" album was nominated for the Album of the Year Grammy. While Kanye didn't take that award, he took the Rap Album of the Year statue home. There was no whining on stage either. Now according to MTV, Kanye West has ascended to the top, becoming the hottest MC in the hip hop game today. Kanye edged out his "big brother" and Roc mentor, Jay-Z to take the top spot. MTV ranks the top 10 MC's today as follows: 1. Kanye West 2. Jay-Z 3. Lil Wayne 4. Rick Ross 5. Snoop Dogg 6. 50 Cent 7. Lupe Fiasco 8. Young Jeezy 9. Andre 3000 10. T.I. The list looks pretty good, but personally speaking I'd rank Andre 3000 and Lupe in the top 5, definitely above Rick Ross. Credit goes out to all those who made MTV's list, and you know this will be the sort of thing all hip hop heads debate on for the year to come. Kanye has also received recent praise from hip hop mogul and producer, Sean "Diddy" Combs. Diddy sent a special video message to Kanye which can be seen at Kanye's University City blog.
