MF Doom Ballskin Hip Hop Lyrics

The artist formerly known as MF Doom, now goes by just "Doom". His latest 2009 record release called Born Like This features a full slate of hot tracks including one of the most played songs at Doom's Myspace, Ballskin. Here's the full rap music lyrics for Doom's scorchin' hot track, Ballskin.

Rap Music Lyrics - Ballskin

MF Doom (Album: Born Like This)

Ballskin - Doom

The flow is towin, precision as a afro trim
All big letters but it isn't no acronym
Smacked the thin grin off a chin for crack smokin'
DDT the first bar and leave this track back broken'
Chrome grown men doin' business with anglo sax and them
Lacking swing but that banjo's so relaxin'
As the wax spin
Hackin' axes and it wouldn't pretend it's just a pen
See if you could pencil em in
Tense, mention men their honor fenced in
Sensed his is tens
The wheels fall off, then it's the end
Don't get keelhauled in, Villain always been
Feel real genuine ballskin
Not to call the whole crowd out, it's just a few chumps
And you know who you are like a shout out
Place em in your loud mouth and taste em like a pastry
Waste of space, face hastily, bow out gracefully
Disappear, reappear, and disappear again
Villain not his hair, he's no Afro-American
If that's the case, he be a bald-headed African
Takin all the credit and jetted, astro-travellin'
Turn a man into a mannequin for Affleck-in
And bein tough actin', Tinactin bluff jackin'
He's wears a mask so when he dons his face
Each and every race, could absorb the bass
In the place to be
Don't believe the hyperbole
It's like a murder spree, get sniped verbally
Beat in the head with lead pipe languages
For street cred, leave em for dead, anguishes
The slang suggest it was the guy in the glasses
And came to help the people with they minds in they asses
And set trippin', get a grip like Spaulding
These walls is thin, feel genuine ballskin...

MF Doom's Born Like This

mf doom born like this album cover
(Born Like This album cover)

The metal-masked rap star himself, MF DOOM, is dropping even more lyrical science with his latest album "Born Like This", which drops Tuesday, March 24, 2009. Doom's notorious for shorter lengh tracks with some of the most wicked beat production and off the wall rhymes you'll hear. Doom laces the track "Supervillainz" with the ever-so-recently-popular sing-songy auto-tune. This particular offering from Doom also features the lyrical power of Raekwon from Wu-Tang Clan on a familiar beat for "Yesssir!", and Ghostface on a trance inducing melody for "Angelz"...There's a Doom-Ghostface collabo still being talked about and in the works to this day. Believe it or not, Kanye West even gave props to two new Doom tracks over on his blog (which may be partly written by Ye), so Doom's underground style is far from unnoticed. Maybe a Doom-Kanye track or two are forthcoming?

...based on the tracks previewed at MF Doom's Myspace, Doom's brought one of the top rap releases so far in this early 2009.

Showbiz Stunt Doubles: Doom & Montana

Hanna Montana MF Doom

It's the latest rage in musical performances. Not lip synching your albums or on stage performances like Milli Vanilli or Ashlee Simpson did. That's a thing of the past, well for some. The latest fad in music involves being too lazy to go out on stage yourself, so you send out a music stunt double. They look enough like you to pass for the real thing, but discerning fans are always able to tell the real deal.

There had been buzz for quite some time on the internet over Daniel Dumile aka "Zev Love X" aka "King Geedorah" aka "Viktor Vaughn", or most commonly known as "MF DOOM". The underground rap star was taking a break from shows and fooling people, or so he thought. His rapper character and act involves him wearing a metal mask (like comic book character Doctor Doom) on stage. However, his fans are smarter than that, and he's been revealed as people noticed scars and marks on the impostors at shows. You can check out the various impostor pics here at hiphopsite.com's forum. The artist is being smart about all this of course. His next album is aptly titled "Doomposter" and will address the Doom clone situation. According to his Wikipedia entry:

"As explained by John Robinson and C-Rayz Walz, live lip-syncing and impostor-sending dating back to Rock The Bells in NYC (July 29, 2007) has been orchestrated by Dumile as both a marketing mechanism and a basis for understanding his new album"

Hmm..Likely excuse for a lazy rap star, or clever marketing strategy? You decide.

That brings us to teen sensation, Miley Cyrus, aka "Hannah Montana". She recently made headlines in the news for sending out a double on stage. According to the Associated Press:

"A video posted on YouTube shows the 15-year-old entertainer, who stars on the hit Disney TV show "Hannah Montana," onstage as her character, dancing and singing onstage with a group of dancers and the Jonas Brothers, also on the "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus 'Best of Both Worlds'" tour.

During the song, someone ushers her offstage via a trap door. Immediately, another girl dressed like the character "Hannah" in the same pink trench coat with blonde hair covering her face dances around, runs up stairs on the stage set and then quickly leaves the stage.

While the double is holding a microphone for her less than a minute, the girl motions like she is singing. However, a rep for Miley said the switch was only for costume purposes."

Check out the Montana YouTube video here. So Hannah's switch is definitely more innocent and acceptable than Doom's, but both have caused quite enough buzz. The question is how many of the Doom clones will he have as guest rappers on his "Doomposter" album? And will there be a Doom-Montana mashup album in the works? Let's hope not.

Who are the Best MC's?

Many circles debate over who the top all time rappers are, so I need to weigh in..these are gut impressions I have, having listened to rap since early on, its a VERY tough list to compile so I broke it down to all time and then my best today:

All-Time - quick list
1-Rakim (considered the Godfather of Rap by many)
2-Nas (people say he's fallin off on recent cds, but overall top notch)
3-Jay-Z (you can argue he's commercial but he just keeps makin hot music)
4-BIG (a career cut short, but his personality shone through on the mic)
5-Kool G Rap (in terms of rawness, you cant stop G Rap)
6-Guru (Gangstarr pioneer with a raspy monotone flow)
7-Q Tip (people overlook him way too often, but his verses shine)
8-2PAC (Im not his biggest fan, but he belongs here)
9-Ice Cube (another gangsta rap pioneer, influential)
10-LL Cool J (remember this is the all time list :)

Tops Right Now
1-Nas (anticipation is great for his Hip Hop is Dead album)
2-Jay-Z (anticipation is greater for his next release)
3-Common (so underrated and overlooked still today)
4-Talib Kweli (this guy has alot to say and says it well)
5-Black Thought (Roots frontman, also underrated)
6-Lupe Fiasco (he's a newcomer but very promising)
7-Mr Lif (underground cat who speaks volumes w/socially conscious raps)
8-Kanye West (believe it or not this guy does more than produce)
9-MF Doom (former KMD group member now makes ultra-creative albums)
10-Andre 3000/Mos Def (neither rap so much these days but they should be!)
