Donda West Death: Cosmetic Surgery
According to the Los Angeles coroner, Kanye West's mother who passed away this weekend, died due to complications during plastic surgery. Donda West died Saturday at age 58, and there will be an autopsy conducted this coming Tuesday or Wednesday. Kanye was raised by his mother Donda since age 3, after his father left them. She was also the inspiration behind his song "Hey Mama" off his sophomore 2005 album, "Late Registration". She also publised a book to showcase her son's rise to success called Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Superstar. Donda served as chief executive of West Brands LLC, which was the parent company of Kanye's business enterprises. Donda's publicist was quoted as saying Donda died "as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure,". According to Fox News, cosmetic surgery procedures have jumped 446 percent since in less than 10 years time, and these procedures are not "complication-free". Rapper Jay-Z payed respect to Kanye's mother during his sold-out concert at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York this past Sunday, holding a moment of silence followed by a performance of "Roc Boys" off his new album, American Gangster.
