Michael Jackson Movie Tickets on Sale 9/27

Sunday, September 27, 2009 fans will be lining up for the first round of tickets for an exclusive Michael Jackson film called "This is It". The movie won't open in theaters until October 28th, and will have just a two week run worldwide.

The Sony Pictures "This is It" movie will include footage of MJ's final three months, including video of him rehearsing for his concert comeback. Jackson passed away just three weeks before the "This is It" concert was to debut in the O2 Arena in London, England. Sony has had its hands full editing over 100 hours of video footage that concert promoter AEG Live gave them from April, May and June 2009.

From CNN.com:

"Audiences will be given a privileged and private look at the singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, and genius as he creates and perfects his final show," Sony said.

Kenny Ortega, who was working with Jackson to create the "This Is It" concert, is also directing the documentary.

"As we began assembling the footage for the motion picture, we realized we captured something extraordinary, unique and very special," Ortega said. "It's a very private, exclusive look into a creative genius' world."

There may be an additional Michael Jackson three-city memorabilia tour in the works from AEG Live, but that will be decided by a judge. For now, fans are lining up in large numbers to score the first tickets for this exclusive MJ show.

Michael Jackson's Memorial Service a Televised Tribute

michael jackson memorial service live tv

Michael jackson memorial service was televised online live streaming footage on the TV/video website Hulu.com. The coverage came via FoxNews with Megyn Kelly hosting. Most major networks across the US also aired the memorial which was well over an hour long. Fans watched the service live around the world in large gatherings, including one outside the Apollo Theater in Harlem, NYC. Prior to the service's start, Smokey Robinson read statements from a few guests who were unable to attend, Diana Ross and Nelson Mandela. Diana Ross evidently may not have attended due to all the attention over the custody battle for MJ's kids, and how she may be named the mother of them. Michael Jackson's gold casket was under a spotlight in front of the stage with a giant screen hanging up above to show highlight clips and images of the late "King of Pop". The majority of Jackson's family was in attendance as were some of the most famous stars on the planet. Kobe Bryant, Spike Lee, Wesley Snipes, Lou Ferrigno, Don King, the Kardashian sisters, Magic Johnson, Brooke Shields, Larry King all showed up to pay

Pastor Lucius Smith opened the memorial ceremony calling Michael "an idol, a hero and a king" as well as our "brother, son, father and friend". After the pastor's opening, Mariah Carey sang a redone remake of the Jackson 5 classic "I'll Be There". Singer Trey Lorenz was even present to add his parts to the song just as he did on Mariah Carey's Unplugged. Queen Latifah was out next to speak and read the Maya Angelou Michael Jackson Poem called "We Had Him". Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas spoke of Michael as a humanitarian and presented a bill to forever honor the King of Pop.

The memorial featured many stars performing in tribute to the late King of Pop. Music legend Lionel Richie sang "Jesus is Love", and Stevie Wonder sang "Never Dreamed You'd Leave in Summer". Jennifer Hudson sang, "Will You Be There", John Mayer performed "Human Nature" via guitar, and R&B star Usher performed "Gone Too Soon", then was comforted by front row friends and family at the song's close.

Michael Jackson's brother performed Michael's favorite all-time song, Smile by Charlie Chaplin (Lyrics) from a B&W movie "Modern Times". 12-year old Shaheen Jafargholi, a singing sensation from Britain's Got Talent, showcased his skills as he sang the Jackson 5 classic "Who's Loving You Now", sounding eerily similar to the young Michael. Berry Gordy, the man who originally signed the Jackson 5 in Motown, reminisced as well, recalling one time where MJ's audition of a Smokey Robinson song outdid the song's original singer.

Basketball celebs Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant, who are well known at the Staples Center and around the world, also spoke words of remembrance of Michael. Magic Jackson held a starring role in Michael's "Remember the Time" music video. Magic reminisced about having dinner with Michael to discuss the video, and when he saw the server bring out Michael a bucket of KFC it made his day. Brooke Shields and Michael Jackson were close friends and the actress spoke of how photos of the two surfaced together with captions such as "odd couple". Brooke brought up the "glove" and how she asked to hold Michael's other hand so the sequins wouldn't hurt her. Other speakers included Smokey Robinson, and the Reverend Al Sharpton, who gave a passionate speech thanking Michael for making us love one another, and allowing people to even embrace a black man as president of the United States.

The ceremony closed with a heartfelt one line speech from Michael's daughter, Paris, who said "I just wanted to say..ever since I was born, daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine, and I just wanted to say I love him, so much".

Michael Jackson's resting place is unknown as of now, it may be Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hollywood Hills cemetery where many other famous celebrities have been buried, but as seen by today's memorial, MJ will forever rest in the hearts of the many he influenced around the world.

Maya Angelou's Michael Jackson Poem

During the televised Michael Jackson memorial service at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, actress/rapper Queen Latifah spoke. Queen Latifah read a moving poem written by literary legend Maya Angelou entitled "We Had Him". Latifah said she was there to represent millions of fans around the world who admired Michael from a distance. Latifah also reminisced about how she and her brother listened to "Dancin' Machine" way back when and tried to do the Robot, but ultimately noted how Michael Jackson opened doors for her and others, and introduced a world beyond the one she knew. Below is the video footage of Queen Latifah reading the Maya Angelou Michael Jackson poem, with the words underneath.

"We Had Him"
by Dr. Maya Angelou

Beloveds, now we know that we know nothing
Now that our bright and shining star can slip away from our fingertips
Like a puff of summer wind,
Without notice our dear love can escape our doting embrace,
Sing our songs among the stars,
And walk our dances across the face of the moon
In the interest that we learn that Michael is gone we know nothing,
No clocks can tell our time,
No oceans can rush our tides,
With the abrupt absence of our treasure
Though we are many each of us is achingly alone, piercingly alone,
Only when we confess our confusion,
Can we remember that he was a gift to us,
And we did have him,
He came to us from the creator,
Trailing creativity and abundance,
Despite the anguish of life he was sheathed in mother love,
And family love,
And survived,
And did more than that he thrived,
With passion and compassion,
Humor and style,
We had him,
Whether we knew who he was or did not know
He was ours and we were his
We had him,
beautiful, delighting our eyes
he raked his hat, slant over his brow
And took a pose on his toes for all of us
And we laughed and stomped our feet, for him
We were enchanted by his passion
Because he held nothing
He gave us all he had been given
Today in Tokyo, beneath the Eiffel Tower
In Ghana's Black star Square
In Johannesburg and Pittsburgh
in Birmingham, Alabama and Birmingham, England
We are missing Michael Jackson
But we do know we had him,
And we are the world...

Michael Jackson Dirty Diana Video & Lyrics

The late Michael Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) leaves behind a great legacy of pop music. His numerous albums sold millions of copies and included plenty of pop chart toppers. Jackson was the star of some of the most memorable concerts around the world as fans flocked to see him live. He also made music videos into his art form with such clever videos as "Thriller", "Bad", "Black or White", and "Jam" which starred NBA player Michael Jackson and Michael playing one-on-one basketball. Jackson also was part of "Scream" from the History album which featured he and sister Janet in a futuristic black and white get up for the high-energy song.

In this classic Dirty Diana video (from MJ's "Bad" album), Michael Jackson goes with a slow-jam ballad fused with guitar rock riffs to tell the tale of "Dirty Diana" a groupie looking for the fame that comes with sleeping with musicians. Check out the video and lyrics for Dirty Diana below. RIP Michael Jackson...(See more Michael Jackson songs, lyrics and music videos here)

Michael Jackson Dirty Diana Lyrics

Verse 1:
You never make me stay, so take your weight off of me
I know your every move, so won't you just let me be
I been here times before, but I was too blind to see
That you seduce every man, this time you won't seduce me
You're sayin "That's ok, hey baby do what you please"
"I have the stuff that you want, I am the thing that you need"
She looked me deep in the eyes,
She's touchin' me so to start,
She says there's no turnin'back
She trapped me In her heart

Chorus:
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Diana...let her be!

Verse 2:

She likes the boys in the band, she knows when they come to town
Every musician's fan, after the current comes down
She waits at backstage doors for those who have prestige
Who promise fortune and fame, a life that's so carefree
She's sayin "That's ok, hey baby do what you want"
"I'll be your night-loving thing, I'll be the freak you can taunt,
I don't care what you say, I wanna go too far,
I'll be your everything if you make me a star!"

Chorus:
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Diana...
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Di-ana...No...uh!
Dirty Diana...

Dia-na! Di-ana! Dirty Diana!
Di-ana- yea yea yea come on!

Verse 3:
She said I have to go home cuz I retired you see,
Now I hate sleepin' alone, why don't you come with me
I said "my baby's at home, she's probably worried at night"
"I didn't call on the phone to say that I'm alright"
Diana walked up to me, she said "I'm all yours tonight",
And then I ran to the phone say "hey baby I'm alright"
I said "but unlock the door because I forgot the key",
She said "he's not comin back because he's sleepin with me!"

Chorus:
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Di-ana...No...uh!
Dirty Dia-na...No...
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Dia-na...No...uh!
Dirty Di-ana....No
Dirty Dia-na....

Come On!
Come On!
Come On!
Come On!...

Michael Jackson Dead, Age 50

michael jackson 1958-2009 death

One of the biggest pop icons in the world has shockingly passed away at age 50 due to cardiac arrest. Michael Jackson suffered a cardiac arrest Thursday which claimed his life. Fire officials rushed to his home after a 911 call and performed CPR on the pop star who was not breathing. Jackson was rushed over to UCLA Medical Center where he passed away.

From LiveDaily.com:

The Los Angeles Police Department is launching an investigation into Jackson's death, the LA Times reported. Though police reportedly do not suspect homicide, they do hope to clear up what they view as some cloudy circumstances surrounding the death.

"This is an unbelievable tragedy, first of all for his family, for his devout fans, for the world of music and for the world of culture," said jazz great Herbie Hancock inn a prepared statement. "Michael was one of the most diligent creators. His passion flowed through every pore of his being. His sense of invention was unparalleled. Who else could have thought of the moonwalk and who else could have created such a unique sense of movement in dance. His contribution to music and music videos; 'Off the Wall,' 'Thriller,' 'We are the World' are expressions of his consummate talent. Above all his compassion for serving humanity and desire to uplift and encourage excellence are etched in his legacy. He changed the world."

Everyone remains shocked at the news of the major pop icon's passing. Despite numerous legal troubles and bizarre moments from the pop musician's life, Michael Jackson's music contribution to the world of pop music simply can't be ignored. After becoming successful with The Jackson Five when he was just a youngster, the talented 14-year old Michael Jackson went on to embark on a major solo career which spanned several decades. Jackson launched "Off the Wall" which sold millions of copies and had four top 10 hits, followed by the all-time great "Thriller" which has sold nearly 50 million copies in its history. It included the Jackson classics "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and of course the title track "Thriller" which also saw Jackson in a feature music video based on horror movies.

Jackson's plan for the future had been to perform in London through March 2010 during a 50-night concert engagement, expected to gross $400 million.

JT Gets Bashed for B-Day!

justin timberlake

Happy belated B-Day to Justin Timberlake! The pop star turned 27 on Thursday. Unfortunately for Justin his fans don't just throw him a party. They really throw him around, as seen in this sneak peak Superbowl ad. The commercial is for a new Pepsi contest which includes music giveaways. You'll also notice JT's good buddy in the video, Andy Samberg. The duo is famous and won an award for their "D--k in a Box" music video skit on Saturday Night Live last year, and its YouTube video quickly spread around the web.

Despite being so beat up for his birthday, Justin did get a few gifts such as a cupcake and Happy Birthday sung to him by Madonna.
