Billboard Music Awards 2011 Performers

Sunday will mark the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. There should be a good variety of performers on hand from hip hop music to celebrate this latest show in Vegas. There will be a Lil Wayne Billboard appearance. He'll team up with singer Mary J Blige to perform a duet together on stage. This will be their song from the Diddy-Dirty Money album, also scheduled to appear on Blige's upcoming solo album. Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green and Snoop Dogg are among the other performers scheduled for the show. Among the presenters will be everyone's favorite young couple of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. The 2011 Billboard Music Awards will also award Jay-Z's wife, Beyonce Knowles, with a special Millenium award. The show airs Sunday night starting at 8PM EST on ABC. Snoop Dogg gets Raw with WWE

Rap star Snoop Dogg was the guest celebrity host for World Wrestling Entertainment's (WWE) Raw show this past Monday Night. He rolled out to the arena in a pink cadillac complete with several hip hop honey divas with him (Eve Torres & The Bella Twins of WWE's Divas). From there, Snoop kicked off the party to his new single "Gangsta Luv", but said the show would be "all business". Snoop name dropped his upcoming solo album "Malice in Wonderland" several times during the show, and also had a funny bit involving the use of scented candles to make it look like he had been smoking backstage. His big hit of the night wasn't the Chronic or performing a song from his new album though. Instead, Snoop came to the aid of WWE's midget wrestler named Hornswoggle in the ring. Snoop got in the face of Chavo Guerrero and after being pushed too many times, the Doggfather retaliated with some wrestling moves of his own. He is the first rap star to host the WWE Raw Monday night show. Snoop Dogg's Wrestlemania Debut!

Snoop Dogg was a special celebrity participant in last night's Wrestizzlemania 24. Snoop was the Master of Ceremonies for Wrestlemania 24's "Bunnymania Lumberjill match". The match involved two of the female WWE wrestlers Ashley Massaro and Maria Kanellis battling Melina Perez & Beth Phoenix. Melina & Beth were able to pick up the win due to distraction by a male wrestler Santino Marella outside the ring. At the conclusion of the match, Santino Marella was in the ring berating his ex-girlfriend Maria who lost the match. Snoop Dogg played the role of good-guy hero, and made his in-ring wrestler debut when he clotheslined Santino Marella to the mat, then kissed the WWE Diva..The Doggfather does it again, saving the day and getting the diva! Music Stars Meet WWE's Wrestlemania!

This Sunday, March 30, 2008 marks the WWE's biggest event of the year with Wrestlemania 24. The event will feature several musical guests and celebrities. John Legend is set to perform "America the Beautiful", which was performed at last year's event by Aretha Franklin. Snopp Dogg will be the Master of Ceremonies for "Bunnymania", a match featuring WWE Divas in tag team. One team consists of Ashley Massaro and Maria Kanellis, two divas who've appeared in Playboy in the past 2 years. It's unknown what exactly Snoop's role in the match will be. Also appearing in a match is boxer, Floyd Money Mayweather, who's been payed a nice tidy sum of $20 million to be there against a 7 foot wrestler named Big Show. Money Mayweather has been arriving to the matches using the 50 Cent theme song "I Get Money". He's also been featured on an episode of MTV Cribs, shown with his extravagant toys and counting tons of bills. TV and movie star Raven Symone will also be present for the Make a Wish Foundation. The event will see Make a Wish granting 50 wishes from 50 states, the biggest wish granting ever. Raven will assist with the event. And Wrestlemania will have a hot hip honey present when Miss Kim Kardashians plays the role of hostess. The Keeping up with the Kardashians star has promised that only the coolest VIP guests will be getting in to the event this year. Who's Snoop Gonna Call?

Ghostwriters...The Snoop song "Sensual Seduction" definitely caught me off guard, because it offers Snoop singing it, rather than rapping. I'm all for rappers trying new things, but not sure if that's quite the way Snoop wants to go. It's still been a catchy, somewhat popular song so far. However, it wasn't written by Snoop. According to HipHopDX.com: In the current issue of XXL magazine, Snoop, “the only m------a that can do porno, coach football and have a cooking show”, openly admitted to having others write songs for him on his forthcoming album, Ego Trippin. “I was watching Diana Ross get inducted into a Hall of Fame, and she got up there and named all of these great songwriters. Her biggest songs were written by somebody else,” Snoop says about the switch. “So I’m thinking, Wow, there’s nothing wrong with my pen, but I’m going to let other people write for me.” The revelation may come as a shock to fans of the Dogg Father, but fans may be shocked further upon learning that one of the most creative songs to hit radio in some time, "Sensual Seduction", is one of the tracks Snoop didn’t pen himself. Snoop further adds in the interview, that he's really not into rapping quite as much as he used to be. Surprise, surprise, but this is the way other rap stars such as Ice T, Ice Cube and Will Smith have gone as well. Rapper turned actor, producer, little league coach and TV show star. Snoop's got the future mapped out, and it's definitely looking a lot different than his Death Row days when he was facing murder charges and rapping about them. American Idol Surprises

On Thursday night's Idol show, several hopeful singers were sent home, but still gained the exposure of being amongst the competition. About 31 million votes decided who to get rid of. For the females it was Alexandrea Lushington and Alaina Whitaker who were eliminated from the competition. Both girls were emotional, but Alaina really broke down in tears and didn't think she'd be able to sing. With the help of the rest of the females, she made it through just fine and put all of her emotion into the song. Alexandrea belted out a great song once again and proved she definitely has vocal talent. For the fellows, it was Robbie, who I thought sounded like a Nickleback/Daughtry potential. He had that rocker look and sound, and most likely will get signed despite an early departure. I still don't get Simon's comment to him about "authenticity", because that's tough to judge. The other male sent home was Jason Yeager who I wasn't as impressed by, but he may have a future somewhere as well. Simon told him that he just doesn't "stand out". Harsh words from a tough critic, but the truth hurts. It's a shame they have to leave, but that's how America voted. And again, being on the show in itself gives these people plenty of exposure they didn't have before. There's all sorts of TV/movie roles, theater and possible recording contracts lurking out there somewhere. The two stars I'd like to see sent home are Danny Noriega and the female with the raspy voice. While I realize unique talent will stand out, they are a bit quirky at times. Ryan Seacrest also made a huge announcement; On March 11th Idol will feature the final 12 contestants. There's good news for that episode, because after 6 years, Sony records has finally released the Lennon/McCartney songbook for the contestants to sing Beatles songs from. On April 9th will be "Idol Gives back" a special benefit concert featuring the likes of Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood and Snoop Dogg all for a great cause.

2 Dogs Walk into an Airport

It seems like a bit of a fizzle broke out on the way through the air pizzle. Rapper Snoop Dogg and his entourage were in the UK airport just trying to have a good time. Snoop was hamming it up with kids showing them dance moves, including the Crip walk. He also was chillin in a Toy Store with a future Scott Storch playing the toy Xylophone. For some reason there was some hatin going on at the departure Gate with a bunch of cops and a lot of pushing. Last thing you want to do is rile up a Dogg. Check out the TMZ video of all the fun here. Speaking of Dogs, that other Dog, the Bounty Hunter Duane Chapman made a return trip to the Los Angeles airport as seen here. This dog was a bit more quiet and reserved at the airport, as he's dealing with the controversy of his use of the "N" word in a taped conversation with his son, Tucker. His Bounty Hunter show has been yanked off the air on A&E. Duane Chapman will appear on Larry King Live this Wednesday on CNN. Speaking of the N word, Nas has named his controversial new album that, and MTV.com decided to take a historic look at past rap albums with the N word.

VH1's Hip Hop Honors Show

VH1's Hip Hop Honors show recently took place, honoring various hip hop legends such as Missy Elliot, Snoop Dogg, Whodini and A Tribe Called Quest. Performers included Bow Wow, Ne Yo, T-Pain, T.I., Pharrell and the honorees themselves. At hiphop.vh1.com you get a full look at the event including bonus items such as an exclusive ringtone and hip hop fashion do's and dont's. Performers such as Timbaland, Eve, Tweet and Ciera payed homage to rap superstar Missy Misdemeanor Elliot by performing a selection of her songs. TI, Pharrell, Ice T and Daz later payed tribute to Snoop Doggy Dogg as they performed classic Snoop tracks "Deep Cover", "Nuthin But a G Thang" and "Gin & Juice". Bow Wow and Snoop performed "What's My Name" and then Pharrell came out to assist on "Drop it Like it's Hot" afterwards. Native Tongues rap group A Tribe Called Quest received respect when Busta Rhymes, Lupe Fiasco, Pharrell, and Common came on stage to perform songs such as "Bonita Applebum", "Electric Relaxation" and the classic Leaders of the New School/Tribe collab "Scenario". The grand finale of the show featured honorees A Tribe Called Quest as all 4 members rocked the stage performing classic hits, "Check the Rhime" and "Award Tour".
