Baby Blue Ivy Carter Born to Beyonce & Jay-Z

The news hit late, late Saturday evening, with most people finding out Sunday morning.  Beyonce and Jay-Z have finally had their baby, the one that had been keeping the hip hop universe and gossip world on the edge of its seats.  Beyonce's baby girl was born via C-section at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC, and officially bestowed with the name "Blue Ivy Carter."  This is apparently Jigga's favorite color, and probably has the makings of some sort of line of children's products branded after the Carter daughter. There's been fans and haters all over Twitter, including other members of the hip hop community.  Rappers including Talib Kweli and Diddy, as well as Def Jam founder Russell Simmons all tweeted congratulations.  So did Rihanna, La Toya Jackson, The Dream, and 100's of others.  MTV has a report here on some of the hip hop community's tweets. Of course now everyone will wait for the first pictures, videos, and words from Beyonce and Jay-Z.  Everyone will also wait to hear what the first song lyrics will be to mention their daughter.  Will it be a new Jay-Z rap line, or a song created by Beyonce declaring her love for the new life she's brought forth?  It should become much more interesting for Mr. and Mrs. Carter and Blue Ivy as 2012 continues!

Beyonce, Chris Brown & Nicki Minaj Among 'Craziest Moments of 2011'

The surprise Beyonce baby bump reveal, along with controversies involving Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj made a recent list of crazy moments from 2011. Why were Breezy and Nicki on the list, and who else made it on there for this past year's moments? According to VIBE's "That Sh*t Cray!" list, they selected 10 of the craziest moments from celebs this past year. One was Beyonce's pregnancy which broke a record with its number of Twitter mentions after the MTV VMAs. Another was Chris Brown going ballistic on Good Morning America after he was asked one too many Rihanna questions. There was also Nicki Minaj, not for her GMA nip slip, but instead for her strange moment in mid-July. Apparently, Nicki got hit in the lower lip by a man, but never pressed charges. Some presumed it was a close friend named Safaree Samuels, who may have been her secret boyfriend. Also on the list is the guy from LMFAO for his altercation with Mitt Romney on a flight, as well as Wiz Khalifa for performing a mock sex act on stage with girlfriend, Amber Rose. Rick Ross was put on the list for the scary seizures he suffered this past year, while Charlie Sheen got on there for his crazy behavior back in February and March. Looking back, it certainly was a year of craziness for many celebrities. Some were good (Beyonce expecting), while other's not so good (Rick Ross' health situation). There were wardrobe malfunctions, crazy outbursts, good announcements, and plenty of spotlight, both positive and negative. Billboard Music Awards 2011 Performers

Sunday will mark the 2011 Billboard Music Awards. There should be a good variety of performers on hand from hip hop music to celebrate this latest show in Vegas. There will be a Lil Wayne Billboard appearance. He'll team up with singer Mary J Blige to perform a duet together on stage. This will be their song from the Diddy-Dirty Money album, also scheduled to appear on Blige's upcoming solo album. Nicki Minaj, Cee Lo Green and Snoop Dogg are among the other performers scheduled for the show. Among the presenters will be everyone's favorite young couple of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez. The 2011 Billboard Music Awards will also award Jay-Z's wife, Beyonce Knowles, with a special Millenium award. The show airs Sunday night starting at 8PM EST on ABC. Jay-Z & Alicia Keys at 2009 MTV VMA's

(Lil' Mama on stage with Jay-Z, Alicia w/ the WTF?) Whether Jay-Z was fashionably late or it was just part of the show, the rapper closed out the strange, controversial and interesting 2009 MTV VMA's with a hardcore rap performance. Jay-Z took to the stage after MTV continually announced he was on his way to the venue several times. Possibly to build hype, or he really was late for the show. Still it was a spirited and boisterous performance by the duo of Jay's Blueprint 3 hit song "Empire State of Mind". Jay's wife Beyonce bootylicious self was shown dancing front row to the track. Many fans and reviewers of the show believe maybe Lil' Mama was high, but more likely she just wanted her 15 seconds of fame as she isn't relevant right now. Jay-Z Concert from MSG via FUSE TV

(Jay-Z returns to MSG on Fuse TV concert) Jigga man returned once again to the venue he's rocked several times over including his farewell Fade to Black concert before his "retirement" several years ago. This time rapper Jay-Z was back to form as he performed his new album hits, opening the show with singer Alicia Keys to perform "Empire State of Mind" in boisterous fashion as both the rapper and R&B diva boldly belted out their verses and chorus. After the opening cut, Jay gave a shout-out to each borough of NY, with Brooklyn getting the loudest ovation as expected. The rap star then launched into "Where I'm From" off his second album. Jay's 3rd track was the "Brooklyn Go Hard" song from the Notorious movie, complete with pounding drumline and singer Santogold. The crowd erupted in a "HO-VA" chant right after Jay finished, then launched into "PSA" from The Black Album. The stage featured full band as well as digital graphics backdrop which changed to mirror the various tracks. Jay's wifey Beyonce also took to the stage doing her thing as well complete with her own dance crew to back her up. Rapper/producer Pharrel also showed up for the concert to get on stage for "I Jus Wanna Love U". The concert was the "Answer the Call" 9/11 charity concert Friday night at Madison Square Garden. All proceeds went to the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Fund. Tickets cost just $50 a pop, (inexpensive for a Jay-Z show). Apparently the show sold out in under a minute, and that's no surprise at that price. Jay-Z's newest album was also released on Friday 9/11, "The Blueprint 3" which has received lukewarm reception from critics and fans. Some praise the latest work, while others say it's too much like Kingdom Come. Regardless of how the album itself ranks, this particular live concert shows that Jay-Z still knows how to rock a crowd and put on one helluva show! Barack's Bash features Jay-Z, Beyonce

January 20th, 2009 saw the United States' first ever African American president take office with the swearing in of Barack H. Obama. The historic inauguration ceremony was attended by hundreds of thousands, and full of celebration. Various celebrations were shown worldwide in schools, churches and other gatherings across the United States. Tuesday night the festivities continued in DC with a star-studded lineup at Barack Obama's "Neighborhood Ball: Inauguration". The party featured talents such as Nick Cannon hosting, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys and Beyonce singing. Various celebs dropped by as well to express their congrats and emcee including Ray Romano and Jamie Foxx. Oscar award-winning actor Denzel Washington had the honor of introducing President Barack Obama and first lady Michele Obama at the Ball. R&B diva Beyonce Knowles sang for the couple as they shared their first dance since taking office. Beyonce sang the Etta James classic "At Last" while Barack and Michele slow danced on stage underneath the spotlight. Jay-Z performed his unreleased tribute to Obama entitled "History" which is scheduled to be on his upcoming "The Blueprint 3" album. Mariah, Shakira, Alicia Keys, Faith Hill, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Mary J. Blige, will.i.am and Maroon 5 got on stage together during the show to commemorate Obama by singing a rousing collaborative version of Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered". Obama said they came up with the idea for the Neighborhood Ball because they're "neigborhood people" and Obama first cut his teeth while working to help neighborhoods. The 44th President said this Ball captures the true spirit of his campaign involving neighbors, "because together we are going to change America".

Vibe's 80 Best Songs of 08' So Far

Online music and entertainment site, Vibe.com is releasing a list of what they believe are the "80 Best Songs of 08", 16 tracks at a time. So far they've released just the first 48 tracks (80-32) of their listing, but it's a mix full of variety; everyone from Joe Budden to Red Spyda, Duffy, Leona Lewis, Danity Kane, Young Jeezy, Wayne, G-Unit, Kanye and many of the hottest singers & rappers in the game are represented. The tracks come from the Billboard charts as well as unreleased singles, remixes and mix tapes. Jay-Z & Beyonce's New Year 2009

Jay-Z and Beyonce spent New Years just like any other power couple capable of doing whatever they want whenever they want. The married superstar duo reportedly rented a $200,000 a week yacht named "The Galaxy" and headed for some fun in the sun. During the trip Jay-Z took digital pictures of his wife while she posed for him on board. Beyonce also enjoyed her time on a jet ski and water trampoline during their outing to St. Barts in the Caribbean. Entertainmentwise.com has 20 photos posted from their sea voyage here. Beyonce can definitely help afford the yacht trip, since she recently won the prestigious title of "Richest Young Star" during Forbes naming of the richest stars under 30. Knowles at age 27 currently has an estimated $80 million in her bank account. She edged out #2 singer Justin Timberlake and #3 NBA star Kobe Bryant, showing the solo sensation Beyonce has the ability to pay her "Bills". In other Jay-Z news, the recession has apparently hurt his plans for a new luxury hotel. The hotel supposed to launch in New York's West side early this year has been delayed. According to allhiphop.com the plans to break bround are "postponed indefinitely". The reason? The J Hotels line is reportedly just delayed and not canceled, however the current economic climate “can no longer support the $370 million in loans and investment” needed to make the planned five-star hotel a reality. TIME's Top 10 Songs of 2008

TIME magazine's December 22nd issue has a look back at the year 2008's best and worst through a series of lists. The following is TIME's Top 10 Songs of 2008, which is always open for debate. 1. As for Lil' Wayne, he's got the full page photo next to the list and TIME says its rare a Wayne song go by without him claiming he's ill. Then again isn't that what most rappers say? It's been a great year for Wayne though, as he has several Grammy nominations for Tha Carter III and various songs heading into the 2009's awards show.

Jay-Z's Rocawear Bash

Jay-Z continues to get better with age just like a fine cristal, or Grey goose. According to MTV.com, Jay-Z celebrated his birthday and the holidays Thursday night while wife Beyonce was working in Paris to promote her latest release, I Am Sasha Fierce. Jay partied it up in New York at 1 Oak, where he was the only real celeb in the house for a special Rocawear party. Included in the guests were a few friends, Rocawear staff and some hot Rocawear models. There were some contestants from "I Want to Work for Diddy" in the house, but you can't call them celebs just yet. Jay-Z turned 39 on December 4th, his official birthday and an opening track on Jay's Black Album. It's hard to believe that the greatest rapper in hip-hop today will soon be 40 and still outdoing the young cats in the game. Jay's comeback album Kingdom Come, made many think that he should be in a retirement home, but with his next album, American Gangster, Jay-Z re-established himself as one of the hottest lyricists around. The rapper/business mogul has been working on The Blueprint 3 for several months now, with tracks such as "History", "Brooklyn Go Hard" and "BK Anthem" recently appearing online, still unreleased. Beyonce & Justin Timberlake's SNL Skit

You may have missed it this past Saturday night, but there was a hilarious spoof done of Beyonce Knowles' latest video "Single Ladies". On Saturday Night Live, Beyonce was the scheduled musical guest, and also did a skit to parody her video. Her current video features a black and white scene with Beyonce and three dancers showin their stuff. However, in the SNL video, Beyonce had a different set of dancers. Appearing as the dancers were SNL cast member Andy Samberg, a newer SNL cast member this season, and a surprise cameo from R&B/Pop singer Justin Timberlake. Catch the YouTube video from SNL here.

Beyonce the New Wonder Woman?

Hollywood's hottest superstar Megan Fox has already taken her name off the table for the role of Wonder Woman in the TBA movie by DC Comics & Warner Brothers. Since that news, there's been recent rumors and murmurs that the role could be taken by Miss Foxy Cleopatra, aka the singing sensation from Dreamgirls, aka the girl in Pink Panther (a movie many have forgotten about), Miss Beyonce Knowles. Recently, Beyonce exposed her desire to play a lighter role than her recent drama films have had her in. Beyonce gave the following to the LA Times when asked about the role of Wonder Woman: After doing these roles that were so emotional I was thinking to myself, 'OK, I need to be a superhero.' Although, when you think about the psychology of the heroes in the films these days, they are still a lot of work, of course, and emotional. But there's also an action element that I would enjoy... I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman? It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It's time for that, right? I would definitely have to keep it right for that costume. The way that Lynda Carter wore it, she was sooo fine. She was amazing. I saw her costume at the Met. Her waist was unbelievable. It was pretty crazy, actually, her proportions. But I love Wonder Woman and it'd be a dream come true to be that character. It sure would be handy to have that lasso. Beyonce's Big Give & New Album!

According to MarketWatch.com, R&B diva, Beyonce Knowles has made a $100,000 donation to the Gulf Coast Relief Fund which benefits victims of Hurricane Ike in the Greater Houston area. The money helps out those individuals who've lost their homes, property and jobs. Beyonce is also working on a fund raiser benefit for Hurricane Ike Relief through the Survivor Foundation. Beyonce & Jay-Z's Prenup

According to a recent report, the longer R&B diva Beyonce stays married to her husband Jay-Z, the more money she will get in the event of a divorce. Also the more offspring the duo produces, the wealthier Beyonce could become. KBS Radio reports: The prenup agreement stipulates that Jay-Z would pay Beyonce $10 million if the marriage ends after two years, with another $1 million for each further year she remains in the marriage, up to 15 years. She would also receive an additional $5 million for each child they produce. According to sources, "Jay-Z adores Beyonce and was willing to give her almost anything she wanted." Beyonce is also currently working on her third solo album. According to Galatta.com, the singer is working with production duo Chris Stewart and Kuk Harell. She also may do some work with hubby Jay-Z on the new record, which is no departure from her past two albums. The blazing hot co-star of last year's blockbuster movie Transformers has been proclaimed the sexiest woman on the planet by FHM. The magazine recently released its list of ”The 100 Sexiest Women in the World for 2008”, with Megan Fox at the top followed Jessica Alba and Keely Hazell. Kanye - Alexis Engagement Ends

Diamonds may be forever in the world of the Roc family, but they won't be forever for Kanye and now ex-fiancee Alexis Phifer. Kanye decided to end their engagement due to "being focused on his show" (the Glow in the Dark Tour) and the fact the couple hit a rough patch. According to People: "They'd been having problems," a pal of West's says. "Kanye is really focused on his show; he's putting everything into the show right now. Alexis is a nice girl, but Kanye has been going through a rough time. They hit a rough patch and for now they've split." According to the friend, Phifer and West, both 30, had been spending less time together in the last few weeks as the Grammy-winning star prepared for his nationwide "Glow in the Dark" tour. Jay also just inked a 150 million dollar deal with Live Nation, which now will fund Jay's concerts and give him $10 million each for 3 future studio albums. Jay-Z & Beyonce Knowles Married!

Just days after reports that Jay-Z & Beyonce had acquired a marriage license, they now have acquired the marriage itself. People magazine reported that Jay-Z & Beyonce Knowles wed after a lavish party at Jay-Z's Tribeca loft. The hip hop couple had 60 days to use their marriage license, but it didn't take long at all. It was a very private, intimate affair and guests included family such as Beyonce's sister Solange and her parents. Also present were Destiny's Child pals Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and the couple's friend Gwyneth Paltrow. See People Magazine's report. People became suspicious of the wedding when they saw flower arrangements and a tent delivered to Jay-Z's apartment. At first the speculation was that it was all being done to celebrate Jay-Z finalizing a multi-million dollar deal with concert promoter Live Nation. Perez Hilton's weblog had reported the address for the wedding and the following behind the scenes info: "-BEYONCÉ's dressing room is set up in gym with a vanity and flowers -There are secret service everywhere inside…they swept the place -Fridge stocked with JAY-Z's favorite champagne -There was a platform - maybe for the ceremony -Tables were set for about 30, so the event will be intimate" (Source: Perezhilton.com) While the marriage is a done deal, Jay's deal with Live Nation isn't done, yet. It's nearing completion and is said to be a $150 million dollar deal. This would rival some of the biggest music contracts signed in the biz. The deal would mean Jay leaves Def Jam and then is locked in to a nice package including the financing of Jay's own entertainment venture. It would also include future recordings and tours over the next 10 years by Jay-Z. Jay's startup would be called "Roc Nation", an umbrella company for Jay's albums, production, talent consulting and management. All profits would be split 50/50 between Jigga and Live Nation.
