Jay-Z & Alicia Keys at 2009 MTV VMA's

lil mama on stage with jay-z mtv vma 2009
(Lil' Mama on stage with Jay-Z, Alicia w/ the WTF?)

Whether Jay-Z was fashionably late or it was just part of the show, the rapper closed out the strange, controversial and interesting 2009 MTV VMA's with a hardcore rap performance. Jay-Z took to the stage after MTV continually announced he was on his way to the venue several times. Possibly to build hype, or he really was late for the show. Still it was a spirited and boisterous performance by the duo of Jay's Blueprint 3 hit song "Empire State of Mind". Jay's wife Beyonce bootylicious self was shown dancing front row to the track.

Empire State of Mind Lyrics - Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys

Question: What was Lil' Mama doing up on stage at the end of Jay-Z's performance? Notice in the video and pic above, Alicia Keys is wondering what the hell she's doing there. I'm sure she got a talking to later on. The one-hit wonder of "Lip Gloss" fame showed up to pose next to Jay and Alicia Keys following their triumphant performance on stage. Many fans and reviewers of the show believe maybe Lil' Mama was high, but more likely she just wanted her 15 seconds of fame as she isn't relevant right now. Even with last night's stunt, she still was less talked about than Kanye West.

Jay-Z Concert from MSG via FUSE TV

(Jay-Z returns to MSG on Fuse TV concert)

Jigga man returned once again to the venue he's rocked several times over including his farewell Fade to Black concert before his "retirement" several years ago. This time rapper Jay-Z was back to form as he performed his new album hits, opening the show with singer Alicia Keys to perform "Empire State of Mind" in boisterous fashion as both the rapper and R&B diva boldly belted out their verses and chorus. After the opening cut, Jay gave a shout-out to each borough of NY, with Brooklyn getting the loudest ovation as expected. The rap star then launched into "Where I'm From" off his second album. Jay's 3rd track was the "Brooklyn Go Hard" song from the Notorious movie, complete with pounding drumline and singer Santogold.

The crowd erupted in a "HO-VA" chant right after Jay finished, then launched into "PSA" from The Black Album. The stage featured full band as well as digital graphics backdrop which changed to mirror the various tracks. Jay's wifey Beyonce also took to the stage doing her thing as well complete with her own dance crew to back her up. Rapper/producer Pharrel also showed up for the concert to get on stage for "I Jus Wanna Love U".

The concert was the "Answer the Call" 9/11 charity concert Friday night at Madison Square Garden. All proceeds went to the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Fund. Tickets cost just $50 a pop, (inexpensive for a Jay-Z show). Apparently the show sold out in under a minute, and that's no surprise at that price. Jay-Z's newest album was also released on Friday 9/11, "The Blueprint 3" which has received lukewarm reception from critics and fans. Some praise the latest work, while others say it's too much like Kingdom Come. Regardless of how the album itself ranks, this particular live concert shows that Jay-Z still knows how to rock a crowd and put on one helluva show!

Off That Lyrics - Jay-Z feat. Drake

With Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 he features several of the up-and-coming young stars in hip hip including Mr. Hudson, Kid Cudi and rapper Drake. On the track off that, Drake helps provide the chorus which lets those who think they're trendy know that Jay's already been there, done that. Backed by a futuristic, funky Timbaland beat this was one of the first few songs leaked off the third Blueprint album. Here are the full rap lyrics for Off That by Jay-Z featuring Drake.

Off That Lyrics
Jay-Z feat. Drake

Welcome to the....future (Blue print 3)

Chorus (Drake & Jay-Z):
Whatever you about to discover we off that
You about to tell her you love her we off that
Always wanna fight in the club we off that
But you can't bring the future back
Yall are steady chasin the fame we off that
Oversized clothes and chains we off that

Uh, ya we come so far so I drive around town hardtop and its soft
In my Tribeca loft, with my high brow and my high yellow broad
And my dark skin sis, and my best white mate say what's up to Chris
How's that for a mix, got a black president got green presidents
Blueprints in my white ipod Black diamonds in my Jesus piece, my god
Ah, We ain't trippin off that,
It's a Benetton ad, n---a get up off that! uh

Chorus (Drake & Jay-Z):
Whatever you about to discover we off that
You about to tell her you love her we off that
Always wanna fight in the club we off that
But you can't bring the future back
Yall are steady chasin the fame we off that
Oversized clothes and chains we off that
N---s still makin it rain n' we off that

Verse 3:
I don't give a fidduck abiddout the widday you used to move
what you used to do,
and I don't give a fidduck abiddout
the b---s that you used to screw
What your future dude?
And we don't really care what you used to say
Unless that affects your future pay
I'm on the practice field runnin two a day
So I don't drop the ball when it's through my way
So I don't give a fidduck abiddout
the s--t that you probably did, who you probably is
The only time I deal in past tense, is I'm past rims and past tints
If you drivin' it, I drove it,
you got it, cuz I sold it,
You copped it, I bought it back
And we don't give a fidduck n---a we off that

Chorus (Drake & Jay-Z):
Whatever you about to discover we off that

Venus vs Mars Lyrics by Jay-Z

Welcome to the lyrics for Jay-Z's Venus vs Mars track from Blueprint 3. On this funky Timbaland produced track Venus vs. Mars, Jay-Z discusses the male female differences between him and his side chick. In clever lyrics over the smooth beat, Jay uses metaphor play including references to soft drinks, his former battle track war against Nas, Good Times, and the MAC vs PC debate. It's unknown who he's referring to in this one, or if it's just a general statement about men and women these days, or maybe a story about a girl from Hov's past. Anyhow, here's the full lyrics for Jay-Z's Venus vs Mars from Blueprint 3:

Venus vs Mars by Jay-Z Lyrics
From The Blueprint 3

Verse 1:
Hov's a Blackberry Bold
Shorty is a Sidekick
Used to have a man
I used to have a side chick
Shorty got wind, I had to blow the chick off
Got rid of him, they both took the s--t hard
Shorty played the piano, me I played the white keys
Shorty from the south, oh I think she liked me
Shorty like Pac, me, Big Poppa
Screamin "Hit em Up", I'm screamin' "Who Shot ya?"
I'm on that red wine, shorty like whites
Same s--t, different toilet, we both get nice
Yeah Im from the apple which means I'm a Mac
She's a PC, she lives in my lap

Chorus:
Shorty get it in
Daddy go hard
Shorty get it in
Da-da-daddy go hard
Shorty get it in
Daddy go hard
Shorty get it in
Da-da-daddy go hard
Shorty get it in
Daddy go hard
Shorty get it in
Da-da-daddy go hard
Shorty get it in
Venus versus Mars

Verse 2:
Whether black or white, we both like Mike
We both like Jordan's, both feels nice
I finish my breakfast, shorty's out to lunch
Yea we both eatin', it's better than brunch
Shorty like Pepsi, me I'm the Coke man,
Body like a Coke bottle, I crush ya like a Coke can
Started at the window, end the bedroom wall
The Ying to my Yang, I skeet skeet off
In a Salt n Pepper bag, shorty like to front
Bonnie to my Clyde, both ridin shotgun
Both covered in gold like C-3PO
James & Florida Evans, let the good times roll

CHORUS

Verse 3:

I thought shorty was the Truth, found out she was a cheater
We were supposed to Takeover, I caught her bumpin Ether
Thought shorty liked Mike, found out she liked Prince
I thought she was Adrian, it's been Rocky ever since
My dollars was down, she left me for zeroes
Took my whole flavor, I call her Coke Zero
We were Co-MVP's, like Kobe & Shaq
Left me for the Heat, we were winnin' back-to-back
Said I party too much, shorty got fed up
Shorty got Britney, shaved her whole head up
We used to make out kissin each other's face off
Cept for the Ponzi scheme, damn shorty just Madoff

CHORUS

Hate Lyrics by Jay-Z feat. Kanye West

Welcome to the Hate lyrics by Jay-Z feat. Kanye West entry. Once again Jay-Z teams up with Roc alumni and protege, rapper/producer Kanye West. On this particular song from The Blueprint 3 the duo raps about the popular subject of haters backed by an interesting, slowed down but funky beat. Sounds a bit like something Kanye cooked up during his time recording his experimental autotune singing album 808's. Check the full lyrics for Jay-Z's Hate featuring Kanye West below.

From: The Blueprint 3

Haters, Haters, Haters
And I made myself so easy to love

Don't try this at home, results may vary

Jay-Z:
Hoover, Hova
Botha American gangstas,

Rappers get nasty in the booth, but I'm gross
I can't even stomach myself, ulcer
Move in cuz I'm closer
Had girlies in girdles way more than they supposed Hosa Nosa
My hustle so Russell
I stretch work- yoga
You know I got it down dog,
Al Roker I used to knock pounds off
It ain't nothin for me to knock nouns off
with these emcees prayin for my downfall
They just haters
away with you I'm so player
I never be done I'm so rare

Kanye West:
We killin the game it aint fair
You motherf----s stay right there
Cuz we too high up in the air
We blastin' off just like a laser poon poon poon
Gimme back gimme room room room

Jay-Z:

Eatin' your food leavin' dishes
Why these N---s always talkin' lead talk Ye?
Why I never see em at the clear port Ye?
Why I always hear they at the airport
While I fly daily like I'm in the Air Force
Therefore please stop talkin' my ears off
Millionaire talk, you haters
You made at me cuz you're paper
Need to get his m----f---n weight up
Wait up, I ain't done,
Name one thing that I ain't done,
It hurts when you say that I ain't the one,
You haters, how do I gain your fa-vor?
I need to know, cuz I care,
I need you to love me, I swear,
Look he-re
See Ye is
Runnin the Chi like Gayle Sayers,

You can't fade us, you haters

Empire State of Mind lyrics - Jay-Z feat. Alicia Keys

With September 11, 2009 comes the release of Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3, a 17 track rap album featuring guest rappers Kanye West, Kid Cudi, Young Jeezy and singers like Rihanna and Alicia Keys. R&B diva Alicia Keys is part of one of the standout tracks on Jay's third Blueprint album, a song paying tribute to the Big Apple, New York City. Many fans feel Jay-Z sounds hungry like the Old School Jigga on this track, and that's for sure. Jay raps about everything from the Yankees to NBA to McDonald's, Biggie and how the big city can cause the downfall of many...Here's the lyrics for the track "Empire State of Mind" featuring Alicia Keys on the boisterous chorus.

Listen to Empire State of Mind - YouTube video

Verse 1
Yeah I'm that Brooklyn
Now Im down in Tribecca right next to Dinero
But I'll be hood forever
I'm the new Sinatra and since I made it here
I can make it anywhere, yea they love me everywhere
I used to cop in Harlem, all of my dinnany connos(?) right there in Broadway
Brought me back to that McDonald's
Took it to my stash box, 560 state street
catch me in the kitchen like a simmons whippn pastry
Cruisin down 8th street, off white lexus
Driving so slow but Bk is from Texas
Me Im out that Bedstuy home of that boy Biggie
Now I live on Billboard and I brought my boys with me
Say what up to tay tay still sippin Mai tai's
Sittin courtside Knicks and Nets, n----s give me high fives
N----a I be spiked out, I could trip a referee
Can tell by my attitude that I'm most definitely from...

Chorus:
In New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made up
There's nothing you can't do
Now you're in New York
These streets will make you feel brand new
These lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York....

Uh you're welcome OJ, I made you hot!

Verse 2
Catch me at the X with OG at a Yankee game
S--t I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee game
You should know I bleed blue, but I ain't a crip though
But I got a gang of niggas walkin with my clique though
Welcome to the meltin pot, Corners where we sellin s--t
Afrika Bambatta s--t home of that hip hop
Yellow cab, gypsy cab, dollar cab hollar back
For foreigners it ain't fair they act like they forgot how to act
8 million stories out there in the naked
City it's the pity, half of yall want make it
me I gotta plug Special Ed I got it Made
If G's is paying Lebron I'm payin Dwyane Wade
Three dice celo, three card marlay
Labor day parade, rest in peace Bob Marley
Statue of liberty, long live the World Trade
Long live the king though, I'm from the Empire state that's....

Chorus:
In New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made up
There's nothing you can't do
Now you're in New York (welcome to the bright lights baby)
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York....

Lyrics from http://mcmusicnotes.blogspot.com

Verse 3

Lights is blinding, girls need blinders
or they could step outta bounds quick, the side lines is
lined with casualities who sift through life casually
and gradually become worse don't bite the apple Eve
Caught up in the crowd, now you're in style
and in the winter gets cold, in vogue with your skin out
City of sin its a pity on a whim
Good girls gone bad, the city's filled with them
Mommy took a bus trip, now she got her bust out
Everybody ride her just like a bus route
Hail mary to the city you're a virgin
If Jesus can't save ya, life starts when the church in
Came here for school graduated to the high life
Ballplayers, rap stars addicted to the limelight
MD&A got ya feelin like a champion
The city never sleeps better slip you an Ambien

Chorus:
In New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made up
There's nothing you can't do
Now you're in New York (welcome to the bright lights baby)
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York....

One hand in the air for the big city
Street lights, big dreams all lookin' pretty
No place in the world that could compare
Put your lighters in the air, everybody say yeaaah, yeaaah
yeaah, yeaah...

In New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made up
There's nothing you can't do
Now you're in New York (welcome to the bright lights baby)
These streets will make you feel brand new
Big lights will inspire you
Let's hear it for New York, New York, New York....

Jay-Z Blueprint 3 Preview on MTV's The Leak

September 11th, comes 10 days early as MTV has a full album preview of the upcoming Jay-Z album "Blueprint 3" which features his hit tracks "DOA (Death of Autotune)", "Run this Town" and the newest song leaked on the net featuring Drake, "Off That". It seems on this album Jay-Z has gone for a more experimental and definitely crossover sound to appeal to a range of fans. On American Gangster it was straight Jay, just like back in the day. So this album might be closer to Kingdom Come than the original Blueprint.

Tracklist for Blueprint 3:

01. What We Talkin' About featuring Luke Steele of Empire of the Sun (4:03)
02. Thank You (4:09)
03. D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune) (4:15)
04. Run This Town featuring Rihanna and Kanye West (4:27)
05. Empire State of Mind featuring Alicia Keys (4:36)
06. Real as It Gets featuring Young Jeezy (4:12)
07. On to the Next One featuring Swizz Beatz (4:16)
08. Off That featuring Drake (4:06)
09. A Star Is Born featuring J. Cole (3:46)
10. Venus vs. Mars (3:10)
11. Already Home featuring Kid Cudi (4:29)
12. Haters featuring Kanye West (2:31)
13. Reminder (4:18)
14. So Ambitious featuring Pharell (4:12)
15. Young Forever featuring Mr. Hudson (4:11)

So far an early favorite is "Empire State of Mind" which praises Hov's homestate of NY. It features songstress Alicia Keys, and probably one of the best beats on the album so far featuring a funky piano in the back. Could easily see this one becoming a hot, chart topping single, if Hov chooses to unleash it. "Now you're in New York, these streets will make you feel brand new, big lights will inspire you...let's hear it for New York" Alicia sings in the boisterous and upbeat chorus. The final track featuring Mr. Hudson is yet another sample laced crossover style track with the "Forever Young" chorus you're likely to recognize. That may be a single, but who knows right now.

Enough about the album, judge for yourself based on the preview at MTV's The Leak.

Also, see Newsday's article discussing the upcoming NY benefit concert Jay is doing.

Jay-Z keeping Blueprint 3 Safe

jay-z billboard magazine cover 2009
Jay-Z on the 7/25/09 Billboard mag

According to a source close to Jay-Z, the rapper is taking no chances with his new material for Blueprint 3. Jigga will be hand delivering his material to his label over in London, because he's worried about potential leaks of tracks to the internet. Jay doesn't want all his songs out online prior to Blueprint 3's release on September 11th, 2009. Jay will arrive in London sometime next week.

According to Yahoo News UK-Ireland:

The source says, "Every time a big artist has new music ready these days someone somewhere is always keen to pinch it and whack it on the internet. Jay is very protective and smart and doesn't want fans to hear tracks which aren't quite right. He wants to give the record to the label in the UK and see which songs go down best to give him ideas about single releases."

So far, just two tracks have really been released from the upcoming third part in the Blueprint trilogy. "D.O.A. (Death of Autotune)" came out just a few months ago, and just days ago "Run this Town" featuring Rihanna and Kanye West debuted on the radio, and went viral online. Previous cuts by Jay-Z, "Brooklyn Go Hard" and "Jockin' Jay-Z" are reportedly not part of the new Blueprint 3 album.

Jay-Z appears on the cover of the July 25th, 2009 Billboard magazine (pictured above). Read the article "He's a Business Man" at Billboard.com for the complete story on Jay-Z's busy life and thoughts on his new album process.

Run This Town Lyrics
Jay-Z feat. Kanye West & Rihanna

Rihanna Intro Chorus:
Feel it comin' in the air, (yea)
And there's screams from everywhere, (yea)
I'm addicted to the thrill, (I'm ready)
It's a dangerous love affair (uh, come on)
Can't be scared when it goes down,
Got a problem, tell me now,
Only thing that's on my mind,
Is who's gonna run this tonight
Who's gonna run this tonight
We gonna run this town-

Verse 1 (Jay-Z):
We are, yea I said it we are,
This is ROC nation, pledge your allegiance,
Get your fatigues on, all black everything,
Black cards, black cars all black everything
And our girls are blackbirds ridin' with they dilingers,
I get more in Depp, if you boys really real enough,
This is La Familia, I'll explain later,
But for now let me get back to this paper,
I'm a couple bands down and I'm tryin to get back,
I gave up a grip, I lost a fifth of five stacks,
Yeah I'm talkin 5 commas, 6 zeroes,
Dot zeroes, here to
Back to run circles round n----s now we squared up...Hold up!

Rihanna Chorus:
Life's a game but it's not fair,
I break the rules so I don't care,
So I keep doin' my own thing,
Walkin' tall against the rain,
Victory's within the mile,
Almost there don't give up now,
Only thing that's on my mind
Is who's gonna run this town tonight?
Hey-ay-ay-aya-ay
ay-ay-ay-ay-ay

Verse 2 (Jay-Z):
We are, yea I said it we are
You can call me Caes-ar, in a dot Caesar
Please follow the leader
So Eric B we are, Microphone fiend it's the return of the God,
Peace God, uh uh, there ain't nobody fresher,
I'm in Mason, Martin margella ,
On the table screamin' F--- the other side they jealous,
We got a bank head full of broads, they got a table full of fellas, (Yeah--!!!)
And they ain't spendin' no cake,
They should throw they hand in, cuz they ain't got no spades
My whole team got dough, so my bank head is lookin' like millionaire's fro- (Yeah---!!!)

Rihanna:
Life's a game but it's not fair,
I break the rules so I don't care,
So I keep doin' my own thing,
Walkin' tall against the rain,
Victory's within the mile,
Almost there don't give up now,
Only thing that's on my mind
Is who gonna run this town tonight?
Hey-ay-ay-aya-ay
ay-ay-ay-ay-ay

Verse 3: (Kanye West)
It's crazy how you can go from bein' Joe Blow,
To everybody on your d--k, no homo,
I bought my whole family whips, no Vo-lvo's,
Next time I'm in church, please no photos,
Police escorts, everybody passports,
This the life that everybody ask for,
This a fast life, we are on a crash course,
What you think I rap for, to push a f-----n' RAV4?
But I know that if I stay stunt-ing,
All these girls only gonna want one thing,
I can spend my whole life Good Will Hunting,
Only good that gonna come, is the good when I'm com-ing,
She got an ass that'll swallow up a G-string,
And up top, uh! two bee stings,
And I'm beasting off the Riesling,
And my n---a just made it out the precinct,
We give a damn about the drama that your dude bring,
I'm just tryin' change the color on your mood ring,
Reebok baby, you need to try some new things,
Have you ever had shoes without shoestrings?
What's that Ye? Baby these heels,
Is that a may what? Baby these wheels,
You trippin' when you ain't sippin, have a refill,
You feelin' like you runnin huh, now you know how we feel-

(What's up?)

Rihanna outro:
Hey-ay-ay-aya-ay
ay-ay-ay-ay
Hey-ay-ay-aya-ay
ay-ay-ay-ay
Hey-ay-ay-aya-yea
ay-ay-ay-ay
We gon' run this town tonight-

Death of Autotune Lyrics by Jay-Z

The grandmaster of rap himself, the legendary Jay-Z is back at it once again. This time Jigga takes aim at the whole autotune craze that so many rappers/singers have seemed to take a liking to, including T-Pain, Lil' Wayne, and Kanye West who produced this track with No ID, ironically. Below are the lyrics to this hot new track from Jay-Z entitled "Death of Autotune (DOA)". It's currently being called a "buzz track" so there's no word if this will be on Jay-Z's new album yet, although some sites are saying it will be part of Blueprint 3.

Death Of Auto-Tune - Jay-Z

Death of Autotune Lyrics
by Jay-Z

Only rapper to rewrite history without a pen
No I.D. on the track let the story begin...
begin....begin

Verse 1
This is anti-autotune, death of the ringtone
This ain't for itunes, this ain't for sing-along
This is Sinatra at the opera, bring a blonde
Preferably with a fat ass who can sing a song
Wrong, this ain't politically correct
This might offend my political connects
My rap's don't have melodies
This s--- make jackers wanna go n commit felonies
Ah, get your chain tooken
I may do it myself, I'm so Brooklyn
I know we facin a recession
But the music yall makin gonna make it the great depression
Ah, or your lack of aggression
Pull your skirt back down, grow a set men
Ah, ah..yeah this just violent
This is death of autotune, ah moment of silence

la da da da... hey hey hey goodbye

Only rapper to rewrite history without a pen
No I.D. on the track let the story begin...
begin....begin

Verse 2:
Holdup, this ain't a number 1 record
This is practically assault with a deadly weapon
I made this just for Flex n
Mrs. C, I want people to feel threatened
Stop your blood clot crying
The kid the dog everybody dying
No lyin, your boys' jeans too tight
Your colors too bright, your voice too light
I might wear black four years straight,
I might bring back Versace shades,
This ain't for Z100
Ye told me to kill yall to keep it 100
This is for Hot 9-7
For Khaled, for we the best n'
Yeah this just violent
This is death of autotune, moment of silence...

la da da da... hey hey hey goodbye

Only rapper to rewrite history without a pen
No I.D. on the track let the story begin...
begin....begin

Verse 3
Holdup, this might need a verse from Jeezy....ay!
I might send this to the mixtape Weezy
Get somebody from BMF to talk on this
Give this to a blood, let a crip walk on it
Get me foul to style on this
I just don't need nobody to smile on this
You rappers singin too much,
Get back to rap you T-Pain'n too much
Ah, I'm a multi-millionaire
So how is it I'm still the hardest n---a here?
I don't be in the project hallway
Talkin' bout how I be in the project all day
That sounds stupid to me,
If you a gangsta, this is how you prove it to me
Yeah, just get violent
This is death of autotune, moment of silence

la da da da... hey hey hey goodbye

Only rapper to rewrite history without a pen
No I.D. on the track let the story begin...
begin....begin

Rap Music Lyrics - BK Anthem by Jay-Z feat. MC Lyte

The track "BK Anthem" by Jay-Z features Jigga back once again to rip opponents to shreds on the mic. This time around he's got female rap veteran, MC Lyte on the chorus reppin' Brooklyn. Check out the lyrics for Jay-Z's BK Anthem track below which may be on The Blueprint 3, the Notorious Soundtrack, or both.

BK Anthem Lyrics
by Jay-Z feat. MC Lyte

Verse 1:
Chillin' in the spot in my B-Boy Stance
Don't make this 4/5th kick like Bruce Leroy Pants
You know Im smarter than Spock for Leonard Nemoy fans
so this aluminum will foil your plans
That's how I'm doin em' man!
I keep two in my hand, case I been drinkin'
seein double I got one for you and ya twin
I got a nickel for your thoughts make ya blood trickle
Leave ya smarts on the sidewalk til the cops come get ya
I'm done playin with you, the guns sprayin with or without you
Make ya body whistle without you, young!
I'm still official without you,
still the n---a all the b---s whisper about, ooh
He's so terr-ifiric his lyrics like it's about you
you can tell me everything he spits that its not true
I'm from a crack in the wall,
I'm a fighter with my back against it all
I took my lighter left my name in the hall
Young!

Chorus: (MC Lyte & Jay-Z)
BK Standup
Brooklyn throw ya hands up

Verse 2:
Grew up on Lexington ave, my socks real high
Moved to Marcy projects bout the time I was five
Had a great Grandmother in the heart of the stye
So on the 4th of July we would always stop by
Man I ran through the bush bought pounds from the dreads
They had the best beef patties and cocoa bread
Played the alby square mall by the time I was hittin tour
When n----s was snatchin pockets, leavin change on the floor
18 regime round then,
big houses fort green n----s they aint blend
wasn't safe on the A-Train in Gigi or the F decepticons
lowlife n---s snatch the polos off your chest
East NY, Bushwick F--k it the whole BK
Brownsville where the warriors come out to play
N---a you betta roll deep goin' thru Coney Island
Cuz there's one way out, n---a one way in

Chorus:

BK Stand Up, Brooklyn throw ya hands up
If ya with me lick a shot for Biggie!

Verse 3:
Everywhere you go, Brooklyn's in the house
(If ya soft tuck ya chain)
the crooks is in the house (yes!), the juks is in route
The dramas on the way, staredowns first,
Then the llamas gonna spray, mamas gonna pray
We respect real,
You act like a sheep, ya gonna be the next meal
The wolves is on the job, gotta get in where we fit in
Our ribs is showin, the kids is growin -
Baby need new shoes while you sit on 22's
And we got guns n---a Samoans
You in the spot showin off like Terrell Owens
Hell I'm on this n---a, you better hold your ground
if you a straw house then the fours will blow you down
and its back to the hometown...

Chorus:
BK Stand Up, Brooklyn throw ya hands up
If ya with me lick a shot for Biggie!

Jay-Z's Rocawear Bash

Jay-Z continues to get better with age just like a fine cristal, or Grey goose. According to MTV.com, Jay-Z celebrated his birthday and the holidays Thursday night while wife Beyonce was working in Paris to promote her latest release, I Am Sasha Fierce. Jay partied it up in New York at 1 Oak, where he was the only real celeb in the house for a special Rocawear party. Included in the guests were a few friends, Rocawear staff and some hot Rocawear models. There were some contestants from "I Want to Work for Diddy" in the house, but you can't call them celebs just yet.

Jay-Z turned 39 on December 4th, his official birthday and an opening track on Jay's Black Album. It's hard to believe that the greatest rapper in hip-hop today will soon be 40 and still outdoing the young cats in the game. Jay's comeback album Kingdom Come, made many think that he should be in a retirement home, but with his next album, American Gangster, Jay-Z re-established himself as one of the hottest lyricists around. The rapper/business mogul has been working on The Blueprint 3 for several months now, with tracks such as "History", "Brooklyn Go Hard" and "BK Anthem" recently appearing online, still unreleased. The scorchin-hot "Brooklyn Go Hard" is confirmed to be on the "Notorious" soundtrack.

MTV.com also reported about Travis Barker who did a recent remix of Jay's "Jockin' Jay-Z" track. Read the full article here at MTV.com.

Rap Music Lyrics - Brooklyn (Go Hard) by Jay-Z

Brooklyn Go Hard by Jay-Z (featuring Santogold) Lyrics

Shawn Carter's new but unreleased track Brooklyn Go Hard features some hard to distinguish lyrics rapped by Jay-Z from the start. It's a clever, powerful and hardcore song reppin' Brooklyn once again from Hip-Hop's greatest. The track is produced by Kanye West, and features Santogold singing throughout. Rap fans are already speculating how many other rappers will bring forth tracks reppin' their own area codes. Here's the lyrics for Brooklyn Go Hard which is scheduled to be on either the upcoming Notorious soundtrack or Blueprint 3 album.

Brooklyn Go Hard Lyrics
by Jay-Z feat. Santogold

Verse 1 (Jay-Z):
This is black hoodie rap,
There's no fear in my eyes where they're lookin at.
betta look a map
be-sides me not like ta eye fight
me not tink such a ting is worth a man's life,
but if a man tests my stye,
I promise he won't like my reply
boom bye bye, like Buju I'm crucial
I'm a Brooklyn boy, I may take some gettin' used to
change snatchin, ain't have it, gotta get it
same s--t from Brownsville to great british
fatherless child, mama pulled double shifts
so the number runners was the only one to hang widdeth
before u know it, im in the game bang fiddeth
feel no orangatangs peel they old kid-aps
like a ranger is, im dangerous
tell me what the name of this s--t is

CHORUS:
Brooklyn we go hard, go hard (repeated in background)
B-R-O-OK!
L-Y-N come again!
Repeat twice

Verse 2 (Jay-Z):
I father, I Brooklyn Dodger them
I Jack- I Rob- I sin,
Ah man, I'm Jackie Rob-in-son
cept when I run base, I dodge the pen
Lucky me, Luckily they didn't get me
Now when I bring the Nets I'm the black Brans Ricky
From Brooklyn corners, burnin corners of -----
Spread love, Biggie, Brooklyn hippie
I pity the fool with jewels like Mr. T,
with no histor-y, in my burough, they borrow
With no intentions of returning to-morrow
The Sun don't come out for many, like Annie
half orphan, mama never had an abortion
papa sorta did, still I managed to live
I go hard, I owe it all to the crib
now please tell me what the f--'s harder than this?

CHORUS:
Brooklyn we go hard, go hard (repeated in background)
B-R-O-OK!
L-Y-N Come again!
(Repeat)

Verse 3 (Santogold):
Well Im doin my time due to circumstance
Crossed that bridge, face the consequence
Once bid 10, now I payed my dues
Risk takers we break the rules.
Gets so dark, but I see good.
Bedstuy stay high in my neckuva the woods.
Now let it rain now, it's a warning-
(Brooklyn) let it be sworn in
Gotta make you think workin like we color
rip it to the core, underneath it all we harder
right until we quit, bring it to the floor
One step, one step, give it up more
the road is tough and the streets is messed
got big cash dreams and a sick death wish
robbin out the commercial stash
Killer voice screamin in my head

CHORUS:
Brooklyn we go hard, go hard (repeated in background)
B-R-O-OK!
L-Y-N Come again!
(Repeat)

Rap Music Lyrics - History by Jay-Z

Jay-Z brings forth the inspirational single/anthem entitled "History" which will be a part of his Blueprint 3 album coming in 2008-09. The song is said to be dedicated to Barack Obama's election victory, but also can be the victory anthem or song of hope for many. Here's the rap music lyrics for Jay-Z's single History.

History by Jay-Z
Album: Blueprint 3

CHORUS:

Now that all the smoke is gone, (lighter)
and the battle's finally won, (gimme ya lighta)
(lighter's up) Victory is finally ours,
History so long, so long...so long, so long

Verse 1:
In search of victory, she keeps eludin me,
If only we could be together momentarily,
We can make love and make history,
Why wont you visit me? until she visit me,
I be stuck with her sister, her name is defeat,
She gives me agony, so much agony,
She brings me so much pain, so much misery,
Like missin ya last shot and fallin to ya knees,
As the crowd screams for the other team,
I practiced so hard for this moment, victory don't leave
I know what this means, I'm stuck in this routine,
Whole new different day, same old thing,
All I got is dreams nobody else can see,
Nobody else believes, nobody else but me,
Where are you victory? I need you desperately
Not just for the moment - to make history

CHORUS:
Now that all the smoke is gone, (lighter)
and the battle's finally won, (lighters!)
Victory is finally ours (yea),
History so long, so long...so long, so long

Verse 2:
So now I'm flirtin' with death, hustlin' like a G,
While victory wasn't watchin, took chances repeatedly,
As a teenage boy, before ag-ny,
before I got proactive, I couldn't face sheet,
I just threw on my hoodie, and headed to the street
I swear a mess success would live together shortly,
Cuz success is like lust, she's good to the touch,
She's good for the moment but she's never enough,
Everybody's had her, she's nothin' like V,
But success is all I got, unfortunately,
But I'm burnin' down the block, hoppin' in and out of V,
But somethin' tells me that it's much more to see,
Before I get killed, cause I can't get robbed,
So before me success & death menage ,
I gotta get lost, I gotta find V,
We gotta be together - to make history

CHORUS:
Now that all the smoke is gone, (lighters - up!)
and the battle's finally won, (lighter - up!)
Victory is finally ours (lighters - up!),
History so long, so long...so long, so long

Verse 3:
Now victory is mine, she taste so sweet,
She's my trophy wife, comin' wit me,
We'll have a baby, who stutters repeatedly,
We'll name him history, he'll repeat after me,
He's my legacy, son of my hard work,
Future of my past, he'll explain who I be,
Rank me amongst the greats, either 1, 2 or 3,
If I ain't #1, then I failed you victory,
Ain't in it for the fame, that dies within weeks,
Ain't in for the money, can't take it when you leave,
I wanna be remembered long after you grieve,
Long after I'm gone, long after I breathe,
I leave all I am in the hands of history,
That's my last will and testimony,
This is much more than a song, it's a baby shower,
I been waitin for this hour, history you're ou-rs!

CHORUS:
Now that all the smoke is gone,
and the battle's finally won,
Victory is finally ours,
History so long, so long...so long, so long

Repeat CHORUS
